Vulnerability researcher Mark Loveless explained the latest wireless security threat to attendees at the ShmooCon hacker conference: WiFi wireless users with machines programmed to find ad-hoc networks when access is needed might want to re-figure that approach given a new vulnerability that takes advantage of such networking scenarios. The new wireless flaw, which experts say will seriously impact Windows and other systems' users if exploited to full potential, lets hackers grab the roaming network connector. The only thing that seems to close the security hole is a personal firewall for wireless connection.
