Will cable's potential consolidation impact the industry's Wi-Fi efforts?

Now that Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) are no longer merging, speculation has turned to other cable deals, including the possibility of Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) may purchase Time Warner Cable. But how will industry consolidation impact cable companies' burgeoning Wi-Fi efforts? Charter is behind other MSOs in its Wi-Fi efforts, but it looking to make inroads by targeting the enterprise market.  Cable operators are also mulling whether they should follow Cablevision's (NYSE: CVC) "Wi-Fi first" approach by offering voice over Wi-Fi.
