Zer01 goes nationwide with unlimited voice, data service

After a few months of delay, MVNE Zer01 Mobile announced the nationwide launch of its unlimited, prepaid, voice and data service that the company is selling to distributors. The company said its low-cost offering can support unlimited service via mobile VoIP technology running over an unnamed carrier's GSM network.
"Many years of research and testing have culminated in the public launch this week of the new, truly unlimited voice, data and Web mobile wireless service from Zer01 Mobile. Thanks to the ingenuity of the Zer01 Mobile engineering team, our new Veritable Mobile Convergence technology allows each smartphone user to make voice calls or transmit data through a VoIP system," explained Ben Piilani, CEO of Zer01, in a release.
The company's offering is not intended for end users. Instead, Zer01 is selling the service as a mobile virtual network enabler, meaning that the company developed the relationship with a carrier (T-Mobile USA, according to Current Analysis) and will supply handsets and other services, but won't actively sell the service to phone shoppers. That task falls to the company's distributors, which include Buzzirk Mobile and others, according to a Zer01 spokesman. A cursory check of Buzzirk Mobile's website indeed showed an offer for unlimited voice and data service for $79.95 per month.
A Zer01 spokesman said the company is moving forward with its plans and expects to add additional distributors in the near future. The company said its system runs on Windows Mobile phones, and it will offer devices from HTC and Pharos. He said Zer01's service also includes low-cost international calling.
Zer01 unveiled its plans in March, and at the time said it would launch in April with a service for $69.95 per month. However, the company has since backed off offering that specific price, apparently to provide more flexible pricing options to distributors.

There are a couple things that may need to be cleared up...
The service is not $70 but actually $80 per month ($79.95) but it is unlimited everything. Kind of nice not to worry about any overages.
And yes, Zer01 is looking for "distributers" but this is done through network marketing. Thus the immediate spams.

****The profit margins for distributors are thin on this MVNO's platform!In addition the distributor bears all the cost upfront by purchasing the GSM SIM cards (cards start at $70 a pop and only receive a residual of $10 monthly assuming customer pays monthly bill) and phones are purchased by the distributor at a entry level cost $370 or more (Distributor receives a % discount for selling the phone). The only way for the distributor to avoid heavy $$$ investment is to sell the platform without inventory and then let the MVNO send the phone and SIM card via mail to the customer.
While the wireless service is promising on paper, we have wait and see if Zero 1 Wireless current distribution scheme will work? In addition its technology runs on AT&T GSM signal, which means the company will run into a lot of complaints about coverage and data service, especially in the MidWest, SouthWest, and Mountain territories. I also wonder how much cash the company has to survive while the service catches a life of its own and make's money. Time will tell!

Hey Anonymous,where are you getting your information from?? I currently have ATT and I have no problems and I have been flying all over the county training and getting my group ready. Please do a little research before posting.
Have you looked at the compensation plan for ATT, Metro PCS or even T-Mobile? I have and let me tell you that a retailer will make more money by selling Buzzirk Mobile. I already have someone who owns 75 Metro PCS stores and he is coming on board.

Mike: I have a feeling you've picked up on it, but so far, every single post here is either a plug for Buzzirk by a distributor, or simply posts trying to steer folks to a sign-up page, and get them in a downline. Hell, the link in the first post, www.mygvbiz.com/buzzirkmobiledistributors/ is a lousy (downline style) sign-up page. Try out another one, www.BuzzirkTalk.com and see where that goes. www.allfor80bucks.com yet another sign-up page to grow that downline. This "opportunity" should be called Buzzard Mobile, since everyone here seems to be circling like one, looking for sign-up's. Everywhere you go on the 'net, it's MLM distributors trolling, but try to find some finite, provable data about the service and instruments.
Now, for all the cheerleaders, here's an easy one. According to Buzzirk/Global Verge, etc., there are at least 2500 phones out there with "Diamonds" (whatever the hell that is). Have one of them post a link to a YouTube video, showing the phone in use (start with a picture of the front page from a local newspaper, showing the date), and put the phone through every pace it's claiming to have - tether it to a notebook, download a full-length DVD movie, upload a 3-4 gig data file (or files) simultaneously, then make a call on it then launch a TV station, all while the other apps are running. Have some throughput measurement software up and running that the camera can clearly see, also. For all that's claimed across the 'net, this should be a piece of cake test, only taking less than 4-5 minutes. So, for all of the Buzzirk Buzzards, by all means, please put up or shut up.
Real test on a real phone, real soon; let's see it...

No phones have been delivered to anyone yet (original ship date was July 1st). Last week they said 400 would be shipped in "8-30 days". Last night the CEO said 130 will soon be shipped to only the top "Triple Diamond" reps.
