Zynga's Draw Something 2  is struggling to match the success of its blockbuster predecessor, according to new data from BTIG Research.

Multi-platform gaming company King announced it is now seeing 70 million daily players across all platforms including mobile, bypassing mobile gaming giant Zynga's 52 million DAUs. In addition, the company is expanding its third title to mobile.  Pet Rescue Saga , which is already available via Facebook, will launch on Apple's iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) and Google's Android this summer.

Companies from across the mobile app landscape continue to discuss the possibility of mobile "real-money gambling" in the United States as if it could instantly reverse revenue declines and immediately stimulate the hotly contested application industry. However, right now there's little indication that real-money gambling is anywhere near becoming a reality here--but that hasn't stopped some of the market's biggest players from seeking a toe-hold in the space.

In a quarter light on new product releases, Zynga's revenue slid 18 percent year-over-year to $264 million. In addition the company's audience metrics dipped across the board. However, the company managed to post a $4.1 million net income, a reversal from the $85 million loss Zynga notched in the same quarter a year ago.
