Cox deploys Wi-Fi hotpots across Northern Virginia
Cable MSO Cox Communications rolled out a network of 750 Wi-Fi hotspots for its high-speed Internet customers in Northern Virginia's Fairfax County and Fairfax City. Subscribers to Cox's Preferred, Premier and Ultimate tiers will have free access to Cox WiFi, via Wi-Fi hotspots, as part of their product bundles. In hotspot areas, customers will see the Cox WiFi network location (SSID) in the list of available networks on their wireless device, at which time they can enter their Cox user ID and password to log onto the service. Customers can attach three devices per user ID and 10 per account at a time, allowing family members to access to Cox WiFi, as well. For more, see this Cox release.
