This paper intends to validate two major points: one is to illustrate how Intel multi-core
technology and the advent of 10-gigabit AdvancedTCA platforms can alleviate the design
and technical challenges behind the design of content delivery applications, and; two,
how using a common platform approach with commercial-off-the-shelf building-blocks
such as AdvancedTCA processor nodes, switches and carrier boards combined with processor,
storage and IO AdvancedMC modules, deliver a significant return on investment
to telecom equipment manufacturers and network equipment providers.
