Verizon on hold as Yahoo reportedly plans to lay out strategic vision

Verizon CFO Fran Shammo declined to say whether the company is considering a purchase of Yahoo, noting that "You can't talk about something that's not up for sale," according to a Reuters article.

According to Reuters, Yahoo will decide on its next steps after its quarterly earnings call on Feb. 2, when the company will reportedly lay out its strategic vision. The company reportedly rejected several potential buyers this week as it formulates its presentation.

Verizon has been among those companies rumored to be interested in purchasing Yahoo, which last month said it will spin off its Internet business to a newly formed company in a move that could make that business easier to sell. Article
