Action Engine releases Open Mobile SDK 5.0

On-device portal solutions provider Action Engine announced the release of Version 5.0 of its Open Mobile Software Development Kit, promising developers a platform to leverage their .NET programming language skills and standard XHTML elements to create mobile applications. The Action Engine SDK does not require developers to learn proprietary programming languages or rewrite code for each supported device--applications will run across Action Engine-supported devices for the Java, BREW, Windows Mobile and RIM platforms. Version 5.0 features a plug-in architecture enabling developers to make changes to an on-device portal--e.g., adding new features or updating the look and feel of the user interface--sans edits to the underlying platform code. The Action Engine platform also includes community features, usability tools and monetization features to insert, rotate and track advertisements.
