Adobe debuts mobile content testing environment

Software provider Adobe Systems announced the debut of Adobe Device Central CS4, a mobile content testing and preview environment that promises to simplify production of rich media and Flash-compatible videos optimized for wireless handsets and consumer electronics devices. According to Adobe, Device Central CS4 is tightly integrated with the Adobe Creative Suite 4 product line, and features more than 450 dynamically-updated device profiles to enable creative professionals and developers to trial content designed in Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Flash CS4 Professional, Adobe Illustrator CS4, Adobe After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 software.

The automated Adobe Device Central CS4 environment enables users to simulate content performance over a network, record a sequence of actions to an editable script and test the script across devices from major handset manufacturers to pinpoint any potential problems. Users may also take snapshots at certain frames during the trial to create storyboards and illustrate to clients how content is displayed on different devices. Adobe Device Central CS4 is included in all Creative Suite 4 editions as well as a number of individual Adobe products, and is scheduled to ship in October 2008.
