AT&T completes BellSouth acquisition, kills Cingular

Bye, bye Cingular: AT&T has completed its $86 billion acquisition of BellSouth giving the carrier control of Cingular Wireless. AT&T plans to kill Cingular and market its cell service under the AT&T brand. AT&T is also looking to expand its business by incorporating more advertising into its mobile services and investigating dual-mode WiFi handsets. Article
