Big in Japan keeps growing

Big in Japan emerged as one of the earliest breakout successes of the fledgling Android ecosystem when in mid-2008 its free ShopSavvy pricing comparison application claimed one of the ten $275,000 top prizes awarded as part of Big in Japan logoGoogle's first Android Developer Challenge. In November 2009, ShopSavvy expanded to Apple's iPhone platform, and earlier this month, Big in Japan acquired mobile barcode scanning solutions provider Snappr. FierceDeveloper spoke with Big in Japan co-founder Alexander Muse about the acquisition, Android fragmentation and the importance of moving quickly.
