Cingular adds fee for non-GSM subscribers

Cingular plans to charge non-GSM subscribers an extra $5 per month. The move is intended to nudge long-time customers to upgrade their analog or TDMA phones. Cingular says the surcharge will affect about 4.7 million subscribers, generating an extra $23.5 million in revenue per month. Article
