Six months after the beta launch of its iOS app diagnostics support platform, startup Crittercism has opened the service to all mobile developers, promising tools to immediately troubleshoot application crashes and provide customer support. The Crittercism platform includes a library that plugs into any app and connects to a SAAS-based monitoring and support platform--the solution collects hardware and software diagnostic data recreating the state of the device at the app's point of failure, creating a direct line of communication between developers and consumers. Programmers installed Crittercism more than a million times during the beta period--basic diagnostic services are available for free, and an expanded premium edition is priced at $25 per month, with a free six-week trial offer currently available.
In conjunction with the wide availability of its iOS platform, Crittercism issued its Android SDK in limited release. The company--previously part of the AngelPad accelerator program--also completed a financial round with contributions from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, Opus Capital, Shasta Ventures and AOL Ventures, but did not specify the total of the funding. Crittercism said the investment will support its expansion across other operating systems.
