dotMobi unveils DeviceAtlas 2.1

Mobile web domain registry dotMobi announced the release of DeviceAtlas 2.1, an enhanced version of the online handset information resource first introduced in February. According to dotMobi, DeviceAtlas 2.1 includes data analytics and improved search capabilities alongside recent technical enhancements like automated phone capability tests as well as the option to download personalized versions of the database. DeviceAtlas 2.1 also adds information from Motorola and Sprint, which will contribute information on forthcoming devices to the DeviceAtlas database. Firms including Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Vodafone and Bango already contribute data to DeviceAtlas.

DeviceAtlas collates and refines the latest information on handsets spanning from early-model data-capable devices to next-generation smartphones, in effect streamlining the development process by enabling developers to create "device-aware" content based on reliable intelligence. dotMobi adds it will continue to offer free DeviceAtlas licenses to developers.
