Many analysts expected 2005 to be the year that WiFi enabled phones took off. Obviously that didn't happen, but WiFi phones are definitely coming. Expect to see more devices in 2006, but they won't become mainstream until at least 2007. As MobHappy points out, WiFi phones are not terribly useful until they can seamlessly transfer a phone call from a VoIP connection to the cell network and back.
