Roundbox debuts datacast developer program

Mobile broadcast software developer Roundbox announced the launch of the Roundbox Developer Program, an effort the company said was created to address the challenges of seamless mobile broadcast-based application delivery. According to Roundbox, its datacast platform provides a turnkey system facilitating management over a large number of application providers and sets policies to oversee broadcast bandwidth utilization--the new developer program provides the SDK, related downloads and documentation necessary to build applications for the platform. "There are many challenges faced by both operators and application developers who want to deploy and develop mobile datacast services," said Roundbox vice president of product marketing Vinod Valloppillil in a prepared statement. "These challenges range from mastery of the new technologies required to harness mobile broadcast to the need for powerful operator management tools to allocate bandwidth to multiple applications. Our partner program is unique in that it is the first to address the end-to-end problem of datacast application delivery and deployment to accelerate the mobile broadcast ecosystem."
