Something's New With BREW

By Brian Dolan BREW 2007 kicked off last night with a carnival-themed welcome reception at the Embarcadero. Stilt walkers greeted the BREW delegates as they arrived at the seaside festivities. Attendees networked with colleagues, lined up for the palm readers and listened to live jazz and blues bands. Earlier in the day, Bob Briggs, senior vice president and general manager of BREW, welcomed about 50 analysts and members of the press at a media reception. The conference attracted more European reporters than in the past, signifying BREW’s growing presence across the pond. After Briggs talk the analysts joined the rest of the attendees for a happy hour in the BREW Partner Pavilion, where they enjoyed the funky sounds of the Southern Funk Mullet. Mullet is the perfect metaphor for BREW 2007: business in the front, party in the back.
