Study: Demand for cloud applications is growing for both consumers, enterprises

Cloud computing holds a lot of appeal for both consumers and enterprises, as it allows data and business functions to be accessed from anywhere. For mobile app developers, the demand for mobile cloud applications is growing and according to a new cloud development study from Evans Data Group, nearly all developers surveyed report that their cloud development includes some focus on mobile.

For consumers, cloud computing allows them to access e-commerce sites to purchase and store digital media.  For enterprises, the cloud means workers can access email, accounts, meeting notes and presentations all from their wireless devices.

According to the study, 94 percent of respondents targeted mobile for some portion of their cloud development, yet only 26 percent of developers target mobile for more than half of their cloud development.
