The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to hear Research in Motion's appeal in it's ongoing patent dispute with NTP. RIM must now return to appeals court or settle with NTP. It seems that RIM and NTP are currently in a race condition: RIM wants to drag out any final court orders until NTP's patents are rejected, and NTP wants to drag out the patent rejection process until after the court has ruled.
