T-Mobile USA joins Veriplace cloud location effort

Location-based platforms and applications provider WaveMarket announced the addition of T-Mobile USA to its Veriplace Cloud Location Platform Initiative, providing third party developers using the firm's Veriplace Location platform with access to location infrastructure. According to WaveMarket, the Veriplace platform supplies access to location data from T-Mobile smartphones and feature phones alike, including Android-powered devices--the platform also supports location access to all AT&T and Sprint handsets, with a single API enabling web, mobile web, SMS, voice applications and mobile apps to locate over 150 million feature phones and smartphones across multiple operator networks. WaveMarket adds that because the Veriplace platform leverages carrier location infrastructure, devices can be located indoors or outdoors via multiple technologies.
