Trolltech to release Qt for Windows CE

Mobile software developer Trolltech--acquired by Nokia in late January for $154 million--announced its Qt cross-platform development framework will now offer support for Microsoft's Windows CE operating system, enabling developers to deploy Qt-based applications for the Windows, MacOS X and Linux desktop and embedded platforms can now be deployed across a range of Windows CE and Windows Mobile devices. According to Trolltech, the Windows CE edition of Qt includes all the functionality necessary for end-to-end application development, and provides integrated developer tools including a graphical user interface (GUI) and forms builder. Trolltech adds that the Qt API works on a wide number of Microsoft Windows platforms, ranging from Windows 98 to Vista to Windows CE and Windows Mobile. Qt for Windows CE will be available in May as part of Trolltech's upcoming Qt 4.4 release.
