Want to deploy Windows 7 on an Android Wear smartwatch? Now, you can, thanks to a video tutorial provided by YouTube user Hacking Jules.
The Android developer this week released a YouTube video that shows viewers how to launch Windows 7 on Android Wear.
However, those who follow the step-by-step instructions may require time and patience, as booting Windows 7 on an Android Wear smartwatch requires about three hours to complete.
Hacking Jules accomplished a rare feat that drew praise from many members of the development community.
I'm still boggled someone managed to get Windows 7 running on an Android Wear watch. https://t.co/AVoHeLDRhv— Florence Ion (@Ohthatflo) May 13, 2016
However, some developers questioned Hacking Jules' motivation.
@Ohthatflo I keep wondering "Why?". I mean, it's a technical feat, but otherwise just pointless.— Tony (@TonyRetrobot) May 13, 2016
Many developers were concerned about the long boot time required to deploy Windows 7 on Android Wear as well.
But ultimately, Hacking Jules showed that Android Wear experimentation can drive smartwatch innovation.
