Abertis signs mobile TV deal with China

Spanish infrastructure and telecoms conglomerate Abertis had reached an agreement with the Chinese government to develop mobile television projects, an AFP report said.

The AFP report said the agreement was signed in Beijing between the head of Albertis' telecoms arm, Tobias Martines, and the president of China's state-owned scientific research center ABS, Ma Ju, a company statement, quoted by a AFP report said.

Barcelona-based Abertis posted a net profit of 559 million euros ($819 million) during the first nine months of 2007, a 22.4% increase over the previous year.

It had just under 11,000 employees as of the end of last year, with 53% of its staff located outside of Spain.
