ABI: Samsung ranked as top enterprise smartphone vendor

Samsung Electronics was ranked the No. 1 enterprise smartphone vendor, according to ABI Research, followed closely by Apple, with BlackBerry in third place. The research firm assessed nine smartphone OEMs on 18 criteria, including workspace management solutions, partnerships and business customer adoption, and said Samsung's large and diversified partner network coupled with it being the first Android OEM to offer an integrated enterprise solution pushed the company to the top spot. Nevertheless, Apple was less than a point behind, receiving high marks in implementation due to the high iOS smartphone adoption by business users. Although it gained a lower score on implementation, BlackBerry scored high on innovation and is still considered the gold standard in enterprise security supported by recent BlackBerry Enterprise Service enhancements for multi-OS and dual-persona device management, ABI added.
