Alca-Lu snares Malaysian optical network deal

Malaysian fibre optic network operator Fiberail announces that it will use Alcatel's optical technology to expand its network and increase its data capacity, flexibility and scalability.

The operator will be expanding its coverage along the railway corridor in the eastern and western part of the Malaysian peninsula and along the gas pipeline corridor on the east coast.

Alcatel will be providing deployment and maintenance as part of the project.

Fiberail provide voice, data and video bandwidth to a diverse client base and the Alcatel solution allows the traffic to be carried on a single platform over the wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical network.
