Alca-Lu staff object to Russo, Tchuruk pay offs

Alcatel Lucent's employee representatives are asking former company heads Patricia Russo and Serge Tchuruk not to accept any 'golden parachutes,' a Dow Jones report said.

The Dow Jones report, quoting French daily Les Echos, said 17 unions representing Alcatel-Lucent employees in eight countries, among them France and the US, have signed a letter demanding them not to aggravate the group's financial situation further by accepting their severance pay, the paper said.

Furthermore, close to 6000 of Alcatel's employees have signed a petition against the 'golden parachute', Les Echos reported.

Russo, who left the company Monday, is to receive a severance payment of €6 million and Tchuruk, who will leave the board October 1, received €5.6 million in 2006.
