Alcatel-Lucent to implement eircom's all-IP network

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by eircom, an Irish fixed-line service provider, to supply a next generation network as part of its transformation to an all-IP service.

Phase one of the project, covering the major nodes in Dublin is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2008. Alcatel-Lucent's solution will enable eircom to offer triple play services such as IPTV and converged communications services to both its residential and enterprise customers, deploying its Triple Play Service Delivery Architecture (TPSDA).

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.
