Alcatel-Lucent is planning a trial of wireless broadband services using WiMAX Rev-e technology with True, a telecomms provider in Thailand.

True will be provided with a comprehensive WiMAX solution, which operates on the 2.5 GHz frequency band, by Alcatel-Lucent for the trial.

Base stations, wireless access controller, operation and maintenance centre, customer premises equipment (CPE) will all be included along with WiMax CPE and wireless cards for laptop computers, so that internet broadband access can be delivered on the move.
