Alfa picks Astellia for 3G optimization

Mobile network monitoring kit provider Astellia claims a deal with carrier Alfa will improve the quality of 3G services in Lebanon.
The agreement extends a current 2G monitoring deal to Alfa’s new 3G+ network in the country, and follows a three month assessment of the quality of service and experience offered by the latter. Astellia is contracted to monitor all 3G+ network interfaces to provide optimization information, handle upgrades to Alfa’s 2G and 3G modules, and enhance the network through reporting KPIs and troubleshooting.
“Astellia is taking Alfa further into the quality-of-experience era by providing a deeper understanding of the inter-dependencies between network equipment, subscribers, mobile devices, voice and data services,” says Ali Wansa, managing director for Middle East at Astellia.
