Antenna site rentals are a ticking time bomb, says Strand Consult

Strand Consult believes it has uncovered a potential threat to the mobile industry in terms of the conditions applied when renting property or land to position cellular masts. The market research company claims to have seen rental agreements with predefined time limits, many of which are nearing the end of their term. In addition, Strand said that rental costs are skyrocketing on renewed rental contracts for both public and private land and rooftop locations where the mobile masts are already located. The firm claims to have heard property owners asking for rent increases of between 100 and 300 per cent. Article
