Armando Almeida to lead NSN’s global services

Nokia Siemens Networks has appointed Armando Almeida to lead the company’s global services business.

Almeida is currently responsible for sales and operations in Latin America.

He succeeds Ashish Chowdhary, who will take up a newly created post as head of customer operations east, comprising NSN's businesses across India, Asia Pacific, Japan, Greater China and the Middle East.

Almeida will assume his new role on January 1, 2011. He will also join the company’s executive board.

Almeida joined Nokia Siemens in May 2005, and prior to that gained IT and telecom experience at companies including Hewlett-Packard and Compaq.

The company will appoint a successor to lead sales and operations in Latin America in due course, NSN said.
