Belgacom announces the closing of the acquisition of Tele2 Luxembourg, the number two mobile operator in Luxembourg operating under the brand name "Tango".
Tele2 Luxembourg currently provides mobile, fixed voice (mainly pre-select) and DSL services in Luxembourg.
Belgacom intends to maintain its residential mobile offering under the Tango brand and further develop coverage of the corporate market by leveraging its existing ICT business Telindus Luxembourg.
Tele2 Luxembourg is the second largest mobile player in Luxembourg with 237,000 mobile customers and 39% share of the mobile market. It also serves 23,500 CPS and 10,100 broadband customers in Luxembourg.
As part of the transaction, Belgacom also acquires Tele2's fixed and mobile operations in Liechtenstein.
