Bertelsmann agrees to 'settle' Napster case

German media conglomerate Bertelsmann had settled litigation related to file-sharing service Napster, a Reuters report said.

As part of the deal, Vivendi's Universal Music would receive $60 million to help cover legal fees and expenses, the report said.

Bertelsmann said it admitted no liability.

The settlement was announced minutes after Bertelsmann also said it was selling its BMG Music Publishing arm to Vivendi for 1.63 billion euros ($2.09 billion), the report further said.
