BT and 3 rated best by UK consumers

3UK has been ranked as top provider of wireless broadband services in the market for the second year in a row.

A consumer study conducted by online comparison site Broadband Genie ranked 3 ahead of global operator Vodafone in terms of consumer satisfaction in 2010.

T-Mobile took third place, ahead of O2 in fourth and Orange, fifth.

In the fixed broadband market, 2009 winner O2 slipped to fifth place in the rankings. The top slot was taken by BT in 2010, despite “some heavy criticism” during the year, the website notes.

Independent supplier Plusnet came second, beating big-name brands Sky Broadband and Virgin Media.

Chris Marling, editor of Broadband Genie, said the results highlight that consumers are turning to trusted, big-name, brands or those offering “bargains they can’t ignore.”
