BT names new HR chief for services unit

BT announced the appointment of Nigel Perks as chief human resources officer for BT Global Services.

Perks will report to Francois Barrault, CEO BT Global Services and Alex Wilson BT Group HR Director. He becomes a member of the Global Services leadership team and starts on October 20, 2008.

Perks was appointed Group HR Director and a member of the executive committee of Logica in March 2004, having been corporate HR Director since September 2001. Prior to joining Logica, he was a board member and European HR Director of Equifax plc. Perks previously held a variety of senior international HR roles with Prudential and Digital Equipment Co.

Perks has a broad international HR background with experience in acquisitions and mergers of organisations and the related people and cultural challenges. He has driven a range of global HR activities including HR strategy, coaching, leadership and succession processes and the creation of business-focused HR organisations.

Perks succeeds Alan Davis who leaves BT after 36 years.
