BT rated worst for fixed line services

UK's incumbent carrier, BT, was ranked the worst land line business in the country, an Internet survey found, quoted by a UPI report.

The survey of 11,000 land line customers gave BT the lowest rating in nine out of 11 categories, The Independent reported.

The company was privatised in the early years of Margaret Thatcher's Government and has 68% of the land line business in Britain and 20% of the broadband business, the report said.

The survey, conducted on uSwitch.com, a price comparison web site, found that 3 million of the company's 10 million customers were unhappy with the service.

The Independent reported that an anti-BT group on the Internet includes 1,300 members.
