CDG awards CDMA certification to Nokia handset

The CDMA Development Group (CDG) and Nokia have jointly announced that the CDMA Certification Forum (CCF) has certified the Nokia 2355 cdma2000 1X phone for commercial availability.

In a statement, the industry group said Nokia was the first tier-one handset manufacturer to utilize the CCF's streamlined test and global certification process. The Nokia 2355 mobile phone was tested by wireless test systems using the standard CCF Lab test plan, which increased the number of test cases conducted by 40% over other test processes.

A handset that receives CCF certification had passed all of the required test cases based on the features and functionality supported by the device and was ready for carrier acceptance, CDG said.
