Cisco appoints COO

Cisco has appointed its executive vice president, Gary Moore, as its first COO.
 
Effective immediately, Moore will assume responsibility for engineering, marketing, operations and services organizations. He will be responsible for the alignment and prioritization of company investments and ensuring operational excellence across the company.
 
Moore previously ran Cisco Services and will continue to report to John Chambers, chairman and CEO of Cisco. He joined Cisco in 2001 from the network consulting company Netigy Corporation, where as CEO he expanded the business globally through 22 months of continuous revenue growth.
