Clearwire talks finance with T-Mobile

T-Mobile USA is one of several companies US 4G carrier Clearwire is negotiating a financing package with, sources close to the Sprint Nextel subsidiary have revealed.

Deutsche Telekom’s US operator is one of several new and existing investors being courted by Clearwire, which is also considering upping its debt or selling non-critical spectrum and other assets, Bloomberg reports.

The details follow comments made by Clearwire boss Bill Morrow at an investment conference last week, where he revealed the firm is mulling options for a new financing round to cover the cost of deploying its 4G network.

To date, Clearwire has rolled out coverage to 54 towns and cities in the US, and it plans to deploy services in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco by the year end.
