Deutsche Telekom, Microsoft push hybrid cloud

Deutsche Telekom is deepening ties with Microsoft, extending a cloud service deal from small to large businesses in Germany.

The German operator’s T-Systems subsidiary is teaming with Microsoft to offer hybrid cloud services throughout Europe. Microsoft provides the infrastructure to move data between public and private cloud storage, and T-Systems the private data centers.

Because T-Systems’ centers are in Germany, the collaboration will offer businesses “cloud services that adhere to German security and compliance laws,” notes Kai Göttmann, director of Server, Tools and Cloud at Microsoft

T-Systems and Microsoft will focus on cloud infrastructure, business collaboration, and big data services.
