Deutsche Telekom entered a major cooperation deal with GdW, Germany's largest residential property companies' association, on IPTV.
In a statement, the carrier this development is regarded as a significant growth area through which the telecommunications group hopes to balance loss of turnover in landline telephony.
Under the new agreement, property management companies will be able to decide whether to award contracts for multimedia equipment installation in new or renovated buildings to Deutsche Telekom or to cable operators.
Property companies have been arguing that they own the cables, while Deutsche Telekom regards them at its own infrastructure.
