DT seeks ramp in consulting business

Deutsche Telekom remains tight-lipped over who will become its chief strategist, after confirming incumbent Francis Deprez is being farmed out to a consulting subsidiary.

Deprez is taking the helm at T-Systems’ consulting business Detecon on September 1st following five years as head of strategy at the parent firm. His remit is to expand the ICT consulting unit by driving its cloud computing strategy and growing international business.

Strategic consulting is viewed as a key driver of future business growth for Deutsche Telekom, a statement explained.

Domestic newspaper Handelsblatt broke news of the change late July, revealing that Deutsche Telekom executives are unhappy with the performance of current Detecon chief Klaus Hofmann.

The change means Deutsche Telekom chief executive Rene Obermann has switched around half his board since early July, the newspaper states.
