ECTel trimmed its non-GAAP net loss to just $1.8 million in the second quarter, a significant improvement from the $3.1 million registered the quarter before. The company's performance, however, was weaker than in the same period last year, when it posted a non-GAAP net income of $600,000.
Revenue was up 40% to reach $5 million, from $3.6 million the quarter before. In the second quarter of 2006, ECTel chalked up revenues of $7.2 million.
The company expects to return to previous performance levels in coming quarters, as it reaps the benefits of its increased focus on the execution of sales and professional services and its enhanced presence in main strategic markets.
