Ericsson integrates Zain billing systems

Ericsson is set to upgrade Middle East operator Zain Group’s billing system in three countries – a move the telco states is a first of its kind for its operations.

The infrastructure firm is deploying a converged billing and charging system across Zain operations in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. The upgrade marks the first time the telco has integrated BSS systems from multiple countries, and will enable Zain to centralize management of its subscribers and services in the three markets.

Zain already utilizes Ericsson’s converged billing products in Jordan, and the latest move “means that our customers will enjoy greater flexibility and efficiency, thereby improving the customer experience,” says Scott Gegenheimer, chief executive of Zain Group.
