Ericsson secures deal from Pakistan carrier

Ericsson has clinched a deal to expand the network of Warid Telecom in Pakistan, a Nordic Business Report said.

Quoting an Ericsson statement, the report said the deal was worth $274 million.

The expansion would include Ericsson's Mobile Softswitch solution, radio, transmission and packet core network equipment, as well as multimedia services, the report said.

Under the agreement, Ericsson would provide capacity for an additional 10 million subscribers through its mobile softswitch solution and the expansion of the radio access network in existing and new cities, the report said.
