Ericsson unveils analytics and cloud tools

NICE, France--Ericsson made use of this year's TM Forum Live conference to unveil products designed to enable operators to optimise their networks and data through analytics and management tools.

The Sweden-based vendor said Ericsson Expert Analytics provides a real-time analytics platform that enables operators to analyse so-called "big data" and take actions based on the insights derived from this analysis.

Along with virtualisation and cloud, big data is a core theme at TM Forum Live. Ericsson said Ericsson Expert Analytics provides operators with the "power and flexibility they need to address current and future agility challenges."

Ericsson also announced the general availability of Ericsson Cloud Manager 2.0 that is designed to help operators turn the cloud into a source of operational efficiency and new revenue generation. OSS/BSS support includes orchestration, management and monitoring of services running on geographically distributed, virtualized and physical resources.

The company also revealed it has won a new contract to provide an integrated policy and charging solution to Taiwan Mobile that will enabled the operator to better tailor and market its services to meet customer demands.
