Facebook's interest could cause a Twitter over micro blogs

Micro blogging company Twitter is said to have had talks with Facebook about the social networking site coughing up US$500 million for the two- and-a-half-year-old private company.

The Financial Times reports that while Twitter has become a leading light of the Web 2.0 generation of consumer internet companies, its name has also become synonymous with the lack of revenue in the Web 2.0 world. Despite its passionate following in Silicon Valley, and an audience now growing rapidly, Twitter has yet to make any money.
