Ford Tamer joins Telegent as CEO

Telegent Systems, which provides mobile TV receivers, has selected Ford Tamer as its new chief executive officer.

Tamer succeeds co-founder Samuel Sheng, who will resume his position of chief technology officer to focus on developing and expanding Telegent’s core technology platforms.

Tamer comes to Telegent from Khosla Ventures, where he was a partner and had expanded the firm’s cleantech efficiency practice. Prior to Khosla, Tamer had been working with companies like Broadcom and Dazel Corporation.

He had co-founded Agere - a networking semiconductor company that was acquired by Lucent before being spun out as Agere Systems - and MegaKnowledge, which was purchased by IntelliCorp.
