Former Ofcom exec heads BT's retail strategy

BT has appointed Sean Williams as managing director, retail strategy, with responsibility for BT Retail strategy and products, legal and regulatory services.

Williams starts in this new role this month, reporting directly to BT Retail CEO Gavin Patterson.

Williams was previously a board director at Ofcom, where he was responsible for the development and enforcement of economic regulation and competition policies for the telecoms and broadcasting sectors. 

He has also filled roles as executive director at the Office of Fair Trading, Partner of LEK Consulting, a strategy consulting firm, and as a director of Williams Lea Holdings, a business services company.
