Full service broadband with GPON

Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network (GPON) is currently one of the fastest access technologies to attract market interest. Several market analysts have predicted a rapid growth of GPON deployments, leading in a few years to the predominance of GPON in fiber access technology. Other technologies, such as Broadband PON (BPON) and Ethernet PON (EPON) are likely to be in place for years to come but to a lesser extent. This white paper describes the current status and future possibilities with GPON.
